Day 1/2 - 2/2 combines a couple of venetian blinds and a series of white neons. Presented as part of Galerie melanie Rio’s collective exhibition Et quelque(s) espacement(s) in Paris, the diptych deploys its sculptural qualities and delineates an «in-between space» questioning the limits and possible transitions between indoor and outdoor, surface and volume. The light is filtered in different color temperatures, enhancing the pictorial dimension of the piece.

As both a metaphor and an act of denaturation Day 1/2 - 2/2 emits a meditative force that extends beyond the work itself and interacts with the present forms and people. The piece is indeed exhibited aside works by Quentin Le Franc and Emilie Duserre, creating altogether an installation which plays within the confines of the walls, floor and ceiling. By rethinking the experience of the exhibition space, this works thrives at creating a sense of immediate proximity.
